Program Details
Our robotics curriculum is designed to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving in children, taking inspiration from the innovative approaches of the FIRST programs. Students will build and program advanced robots using LEGO EV3 and LEGO SPIKE PRIME kits, progressively tackling more complex challenges. These skills lay a strong foundation for success in middle and high school robotics competitions.
Gear Bots Program - Ages 5 - 10
This program introduces children to the fundamentals of robot building and basic programming in a fun, hands-on learning environment.
Hands-On Learning: Using the LEGO SPIKE Essentials Kit, students will build robots with simple LEGO components.
Drag-and-Drop Programming: Children will learn to program their robots to perform various actions using intuitive, block-based coding.
Pathway to Advancement: After mastering the fundamentals, students transition to the Roaring Bots Beginner Program, where they continue their robotics journey.
Roaring Bots Program - Ages 10 - 16
This program is tailored to participants' skill levels, starting with foundational robot-building and programming to perform basic movements. As they progress, participants will advance to designing and programming robots capable of executing complex operations, fostering both creativity and technical expertise.
Beginner: Students without robotics knowledge will learn robot building and programming using LEGO EV3 and LEGO SPIKE PRIME kits.
Junior: Students who have mastered basics of robotics will learn efficient robot movements, advanced sensors, and programming using advanced levels of Scratch.
Advanced: Students will gain hands-on experience with various types of attachments, learn to make intelligent decisions using multiple sensors, and be introduced to modular programming techniques using Scratch and/or Python*.
*Python instruction is available based on student interest and programming proficiency
