Program Details

We use the FIRST programs as an inspiration for our curriculum. It is designed to promote creativity and problem solving skills in children.

Sessions

  • Sessions run monthly, Students attend a 90 minute class per week

  • Students are admitted on first come first serve basis. Space is limited

  • New students are admitted on a rolling basis at anytime. Tuition Fee will be prorated based on the # of classes left for the session in the month.

Gear Bots Program - Ages 6 - 10

  • Ages 6 - 10 will work with LEGO SPIKE Essentials Kit to learn the basics of building a robot with simple LEGO based components

  • Kids will learn to learn the basics of programming with which they can achieve various actions for the robot

  • Perform robot actions using drag and drop programming blocks

  • When the kids show that they have learned the concepts with LEGO SPIKE Essentials they will move on to Roaring Bots Beginner Program

Roaring Bots Program - Ages 10 - 15

Beginner

  • All students will start with this program initially to be assessed for skill level

  • Students with no robotics knowledge will start will learn the basics of building and programming a robot using LEGO EV3 and LEGO SPIKE PRIME kits

  • Student learn robot movement techniques, learn the fundamentals of sensors, use of sensors to make decisions

  • They will use block programming with Scratch

Juniors

  • Students who mastered the basics or the students who have been assessed with some basic robotics knowledge will start with this program. With this program, they will learn next level engineering concepts of Robot building and program using LEGO EV3 and LEGO SPIKE PRIME robot kits

  • Efficient robot movements, advanced sensors such as Ultrasound & Touch sensors

  • How to use gears to gain speed or torque or change direction

  • Students will learn about the real world uses of sensors and how to program the robots to make intelligent decisions

  • They will use advanced levels of Scratch.

Advanced Learners

  • Build and program complex robots that can perform complex missions (think like human) and multithreading mission actions using LEGO EV3 and LEGO SPIKE PRIME robot kits which are the essential skills used in the FIRST LEGO League tournaments

  • Students will be exposed to different kinds of attachments such as pull, push, grab, release

  • Learn about active & passive attachments

  • Follow lines, use of multiple sensors to make intelligent decisions

  • Learn to code multiple missions in a single run

  • Learn about reusing code using myBlocks

  • Modular programming techniques with Scratch and/or Python*

*Python is taught based on student interest for the students who has good grasp of programming techniques for the EV3 & SPIKE PRIME robots
